Chamberlain Elementary School
We are “Cultivating Unique Balanced Successful students!”
The Chamberlain Elementary School, and the parents of students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) (participating children), agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards.
This school-parent compact is in effect during the 2016-2017 school year.
REQUIRED SCHOOL-PARENT COMPACT PROVISIONS
The Chamberlain Elementary School will:
1. Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards as follows:
Through research, study groups, data analysis, collaboration, and continuing
education, teachers, as highly-qualified teachers, will create a safe and orderly
atmosphere, and develop lifelong learners who value themselves and others,
contribute to their community, and honorably succeed in a changing world.
2. Hold parent –teacher conferences at least annually, during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement.
(The parent conferences will be held on the dates stated below.)
• October 10, 2016 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
3. Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.
(The reports to be provided are listed below and those reports will be sent home within a week of these dates.)
September 7 – First Nine Weeks Progress Report
October 14 – First Nine Weeks Report Card
November 10 – Second Nine Weeks Progress Report
January 6 – Second Nine Weeks Report Card
February 3 – Third Nine Weeks Progress Report
March 17 – Third Nine Weeks Report Card
April 7 – Fourth Nine Weeks Progress Report
May 23 – Fourth Nine Weeks Report Card (if no make-up days)
4. Provide parents reasonable access to staff.
(Specifically, staff will be available for consultation with parents as follows.)
During teacher’s planning time, before and after school and on parent conference night.
5. Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s
class, and to observe classroom activities, as follows:

Sign up time for volunteers will be allotted at the Open House before school starts via a Survey Monkey survey. A sign up survey will be texted to parents at the beginning of each school year and give parents the opportunity to volunteer for a variety of jobs at the school. Follow up phone calls by staff will let parents know specific dates, times, and needs. The HSA officers also will contact parents for numerous activities and fund-raisers which depend on volunteers. Parents may also call the office to volunteer.
We, as parents, will support our children’s learning in the following ways:

by promptly reading notices from the school or the school district either received by
my child or by mail and responding, as appropriate.

We, as students, will share the responsibility to improve our academic achievement and achieve the State’s high standards. Specifically, we will:
